Final Project

So for the past two weeks we have been having critiques about our guild designs. I think they have been going pretty good except that I need to really step my game up in my forms of representation and displaying to the audience a functional building design. I think I have come up with my finial building design and I have worked out my circulation throughout the building. But I haven't finialized materiality so that is what I am really battling with right now. I just pray that the slight changes thatI have been making will make my building more functional and people will want to come inside my guild or at least wonder what goes on in it.

AIA Richmond Conference

So this week we all had to attend the conference in Richmond and go to at least two of the sessions the sessions were interesting but some werent related to anything that architecture students would benefit from. I went to alot of different venders as well and talked to come people from contracting firms and autdesk. They mentioned how thay usually hire people from all different fields not just architects/engineers. I thought the conference was ok but there were alot of people there that we couldnt benefit from because they were trying to sell there products to contractors or architects and were just students.

Well today just before studio we had a presentation which was given by Windsor windows and doors. They talked about architectural coatings for aluminum clad, the types of paints we should use when designing a building, and the anodizing process. I thought the presentation was very interesting because now I know what type of paints they have and the things you should consider before deciding on putting paint over aluminum. I noticed that the window frames that Windsor does are very efficient but expensive so I will keep that into consideration when I start designing.
